Looking for his own pack
The Thuringowa Bulldogs are pleased to announce the appointment of Ricky Sullivan as Senior Coach for season 2016.
Ricky joined the Doggies in 2012 on his arrival to Townsville from Cobden in Country Victoria to take up a position as a PE Teacher at Kirwan High School.
Ricky was appointed as Co-Coach with Paul "Cec" Sanson in 2013, which turned out to be a premeirship year for the club.
Due to his appointment with the Gold Coast SUNS Academy as the Regional Development Coach and an impending wedding, Ricky chose to step down from coaching and continued to play for the Doggies in a team that went undefeated in 2014 but lost the big dance in 2015, with a small consolation to Ricky as he collected the Clubs Best & Fairest Player award.
Ricky has a passion for coaching and has been integral in the success of some of Townsville's elite youth players. His ambition is to see how far his coaching can take him and he now has a team of his own to develop and mentor and we wish him well as the Doggies take on the 2016 season with a full head of steam.
